My focus as a designer is to create spaces  reflecting both diversity of community and ecology. The design principles I value include; character, connectivity, diversity, adaptability/flexibility, sustainability and walkability. The discipline of Landscape Architecture encompasses a rich spectrum of public works. I feel much the way Chris Reed does when he writes that we as designers are required to think about public works in ways that speak to and encompass the range of sociopolitical, economic and ecological and global currents in which they operate. I see landscape architectural practice building a framework for these networks and connections.
